Default Virtual medical consultations - video/audio apps

In essentially 30 days (since March 1) the critical need for social distancing has provided the catalyst for the explosion of virtual medical office visits. These can be conducted using ZOOM (caution: current security issues); SKYPE, etc which have been around much longer for social communication. Medical only apps such as PLUSH CARE, EXPRESS CARE, DOXY, etc where you can speak with either your personal doc or a licensed/certified med professional for non-emergency consultation, advice and even prescriptions.

If you have had experience with a recent virtual medical exam here's a place where you can sound off about the good, the meh, or if a virtual vet visit would be better.

I’ll probably be back here shortly to give a report, I just learned that my appointment next week will be online now. I’m kinda bummed. As my wife is coming along with me as I’ve mentioned in a couple other threads to give my doc her opinion on recently reducing my script. So no internal fireworks this time, but it will probably be a bit less uncomfortable for me now with the teleconference appointment, than the face to face and being there when she scolds him for doing that.
I thought I was ticked off at my last appointment, she’s just getting more ramped up the closer we get to my appointment time.
I’m trying to keep her calm about it, but she sees first hand how much I struggle with less meds to get me through these last 10 days. And no, I wasn’t able to stretch my meds with 1/3 less than I’ve gotten the last 2 years. I wasn’t prepared for that at all, (well I am, but with lesser potent meds).
    We’ll see how it goes!

I have 2 virtual meetings this week with doctors. It makes a lot of sense and not just because of the wuhan flu. It saves us driving down, which may be quite a few miles and lots of traffic. It saves sitting in the waiting room, seems like they always overbook and no matter if you are on time or early you have to sit, sometimes for hours. Yes it has happened to me and I simply walked out and never went back.

I suspect they will be used even after all this blows over

I have my first telemedicine visit scheduled for next week via FaceTime. It saves me about 120 mile round trip drive and keeps me out of the coronavirus line of fire. Luckily I’m in a small town with only three confirmed cases although there are probably several more not confirmed as opposed to the big city where COVID is running rampant. We’ve been very good at doing the social distancing thing and I want to keep it that way.

Before Covid I was using telemedicine and I found it to be a good experience. During the lock down, I have had a few virtual visits with different doctors than the previous one I had a virtual visit with and I found the biggest issue to be the Drs difficulty with the software/technology.

This is definitely the future of medicine, especially therapy.

I had my first online visit on skype because my doctors office closed during April. I can't believe how fast & easy it was. I never want to go to office again.

I had my 1st online visit with my Dr. this last week. I was worried I'd blow it and not be able to get on but, it was surprisingly easy and I'm with you peppergirl, I never want to go into the office unless, there's a procedure of course. My appointment was done on VSee Clinic.

In my state, the rules have been relaxed while this pandemic continues to run its course.
My Doc wrote and sent in my Cll script for my meds directly the the pharmacy, who them filled my Rx’s.
Before this, I had to hand deliver my script to the pharmacy. Now they just call me when it’s ready to pick up. Hope that helps.

You and your one-liners. I’m not sure what you’re asking?
