    Default insurance cost

do you realize for me to have health care it cost as much as my house note does per month. Geez ok im exaggerating a tad but $1000 for healthcare with no kids is retarded. just me and a spouse and i still got a 3k bill for when i had to go to hospital.

  3. Agree this is a travesty and the biggest issue facing the US yet no leaders on any side seem to care that we are falling apart at the seems.

I can't say I agree with your assessment that no one (politically) wants to fix this (as I believe progressive candidates certainly do,) but I DO feel like the American people are so polarized in our attitude about this issue, that the politicians don't see a way out either. The big push 10 years ago showed how difficult it is to go up against the insurance companies and big pharma. (Too many politicians on their side too.) Until the American people get a little more together on this, I don't expect it to change either, sadly, and yes it is a disgusting travesty, IMHO. So many folks think that having a single-payer system would bring upon us the evils of "socialism." As long as we're fighting that battle, how can we get anywhere? And what other method is there that would work? You got me...

Ouch! $1000 per month for healthcare is a lot. How much is your deductible for your plan? Are you able to shop for health insurance else where?

no I'm not able to shop it due to affordable health care act. This is what my company offers so i can either take the 3k deductible or the 1,000 deductible. plus the med pan where all scripts cost at most 25.00 per script per month. no kids on plan just me and my wife and its killing me. something with this health care has to change. i pay out the ass however some get same same treatment i get and pay nothing. recently my wife got crazy depressed and i spent every dime i had getter her help. i sent her to a nice place and coming to find out if we would have showed up without insurance they would have signed her up right there and given her the same treatment. Im thankful she got help but they have people who come in from the street and use rehabs as a place to stay and since i have insurance i /we pay more. vision insurance is a joke also have insurance for that however it still cost 400 for frames and exams. whats the point. dental insurance wow they pay for two cleanings per year. Dont even get me started on Aflac thats a joke if your a salary employee. we need better options.

I agree we are getting ripped off. I only get my eyes checked through insurance as I can get the prescription from the the Doc and He said that he makes little $ from the Exam but makes $$ from the Eyeglasses etc. He hates guys like me who get the prescription and go "online" and get the same glasses for little $. "smiles".

The local eyeglass place america's best, gives you an exam and 2 pair of glasses for $70. Each pair can be a different prescription

Health care has become a racket in this country, just look at drug prices compared to canada or most anyplace else. Most politicians are in the pockets of the lobbyists and their $$$ which is why we never get any relief. The unafordable care act was a disaster from the beginning, nice if you had a preexisting disease and could get cheap coverage, not so nice for most others. I hope trump will get on the case of big pharma and the insurance companies, maybe after he is done beating up china, lol

  9. Not really relevant but feel some of your pain as my order for diazepam was just cancelled because of insufficient funds. Roll on payday

Some of the eyeglass places will offer free exams if you have insurance but do not be fooled as they overcharge for the eyeglasses and contacts. There are now there local eyeglass places that have great eyeglasses ( not brand names ) but they are similar for a fraction of the price and you can try on the frames in the store. You can order them and get the glasses or contacts in the mail and if you need a adjustment you go back to the local store. If you go to the Fancey stores you will see that the insurance does not save you any $. They will try to trick you into saying the eye exam is free but you are paying for it in over inflated eyeglasses. As for drug prices you can get some good deals at Walmarts generics and other places but some of the drugs are a RIP off EVEN with the best insurance. I have found the same items on the Vendors here for FAR less $ (this includes ALL shipping and other charges). If you do the math you can save $$$ by buying eyeglasses and other products on line.
