Fellowship of the Ring - Almost the perfect movie. The changes they made to the book just *worked*. Not the other 2 LOTR movies, though

The Right Stuff - So much subtext and symbolism in this. Hated it at first because it made my heroes look like flawed men....well, they are.
I got over it.
Godfather 1 and 2 - The second is a master class in both how to do a prequel and a sequel I"M TALKING TO YOU STAR WARS!!!
(Vince Gilligan (Better Call Saul) gets it right, though.)
Bonnie & Clyde (1967) - Very gritty and realistic. Doesn't romanticize the criminals.
The Wild Bunch - Ditto
Grand Prix - Best racing movie ever (Rush is close). Flawed in many ways, but featured the real race tracks and the
real drivers in period.
Cars - My favorite Pixar movie because.....well, cars!
For a Few Dollars More - The second of Sergio Leone's "Man with No Name" series with Clint Eastwood. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly is
great, but the sense of isolation and doom in this one really works for me. Even Clint Eastwood has to team up with
Lee van Cleef to get the bad guy. The opening scene with the poker game is perfect.
