Because some doctors don't care and they want you to take something else that doesn't work or they say you need psychological help for anxiety blah blah blah. I did some research and I found this group and I'm so glad that I did it has been a blessing. We should not have to suffer at all !!!!

That is so completely brutal. We can only hope that the overwhelming numbers of folks put thru this find their way to IOP's and just overwhelm the border patrol system. It's so utterly heartless and cruel. Insane, really...

I have to belong and be with like minded people. There's no reason adults should be denied good pain relief.
It is interesting to see how many of us tend to think along the same lines on other stuff as well, showing the pattern that we are generally free-thinkers with strong ethics - but those ethics are our own. We think and we question (which those in power tend to hate, btw). We want no harm to come to ourselves or others, but won't just sit back and suffer and die through blind obedience to unjust laws imposed on us by the whims of an oppressive power structure.

I came into this world when my doctor decided to take me off Tramadol cold turkey after I was on it for 10 years at 8 pills per day! I knew more than he did about what the affects of that would be so I scrambled to the computer and started googling my heart out and found this forum. So basically it was to avoid Tramadol withdrawals because my doctor wouldn't believe me when I tried to explain the HELL of withdrawals from Tramadol. I have never experienced withdrawing from Tramadol but my friend had and after a year of her going off a high dosage cold turkey, which she had also been on for many years (due to her doctor suddenly refusing to prescribe more), she still was suffering over a year later with lingering withdrawal symptoms. Thankfully I found this forum and read, read and read some more. Now I don't have to depend on the government and physicians who are not educated on the drugs they prescribe, to decide whether I need pain control or not.

I came into the world of IOP due to being in a car accident were I was rear ended by a tractor trailer. After going to the doctor for over a year and getting pain meds and doing therapy for the neck and back pain my doctor told me he was not going to prescribe me any more pain meds. I did not know what to do as I was in pain and without the pain meds I could not make it through the day. So with my last 30 day supply of pain meds from my doctor I started searching online and found a few places that I could get pain meds from. I did a little research and placed my first order it has been over 10 years now and I have never looked back.

Moved out of the state that provided me with medicaid and into a state that never will (in US). So had to find a way to afford medication that didn't include out of pocket doctor appointments to obtain the scripts I need. Basically, the cost-benefit of getting what I know I need online.

Actually I used the OP years ago when the pain for my initial injury wasn’t being handled well and they did over the phone consults. For the past nearly 20 years I’ve had great pain management up until this past Spring when I had issues after moving to the Midwest. Been a total nightmare ever since so desperate times, desperate measure!!!

Multiple diagnosed & undiagnosed pain conditions, plus I just enjoy the antidepressant effects of certain meds if I'm being honest. I have treatment-resistant depression (meaning I've tried upwards of 22 different meds to no avail, plus various therapies) & have even looked into things like ketamine therapy, but at the end of the day mu-agonists work best for me. But they've been demonized by the gov't whole cloth. I've never overdosed, been to prison, stolen anything, sold my body, doctor shopped, forged a prescription or spent $ I didn't have on drugs, yet I guarantee any doctor I told would say I'm an addict simply because I use opiates daily. My dose has stayed the same for 15 years but I'm an "addict" because the meds aren't Rx'ed by a doctor. Sorry but I beg to differ. I've seen doctors prescribe irresponsible, dangerous amounts of much more powerful opioids to patients for less legit reasons so I'm not ready to give them that much power & credibility across the board. I know what I'm doing and am not an idiot.

I'm in "this world" because it's safer than the street world, basically. Plus I'm shy & don't interact with people IRL like that.

Im so glad I found this forum and Im not alone! I have chronic pain and am so tired of being made to feel as tho I am being punished for being in pain! We did not choose to be in pain constantly! @Snag-A-Puss I also have bad depression that nothing seems to help. The meds just make us knumb...feel like a zombie. I lost my daughter to a car accident in 2006 and ever since then, I just cant fix myself. Life seems so meaningless and I HATE feeling that way. Ive tried many antidepressants and nothing really helps. On top of that I have chronic pain in most of my body. Started in my neck/back and now its everywhere! Physical and emotional pain really seem to feed off of each other making each even worse!!
