I was prescribed this generic eye ointment (Cortisporin) for recurrent eye infections I was getting from rubbing my eyes during allergy season without washing my hands first! I have found that this condition generally starts as itching in the corners of my eyes, followed by redness, swelling of the eyelids which gets progressively worse quickly without treatment.
This ointment is applied normally 2-3 times daily. I generally get relief within 24 hours of initial application and course of treatment as suggested by my physician was 5 days.
PROS: Inexpensive, Works Quickly to reduce Inflammation & Itching, No noticeable side Effects for me.
CONS: Bit messy to apply.
CONCLUSION: An excellent, inexpensive, very effective ointment for bacterial eye infections.
