What is/are Silodosin?

Silodosin (trade names Rapaflo (USA), Silodyx (Europe), Rapilif (India), Silodal (India), Urief (Japan)) is a medication for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It acts as an α1-adrenoceptor antagonist with high uroselectivity (selectivity for the prostate).

Adverse effects

  •     Feeling like you might pass out; or
  •     Penis erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer.

Less serious side effects of silodosin may include:

  •     Mild dizziness;
  •     Headache;
  •     Diarrhea;
  •     Abnormal ejaculation; or
  •     Runny or stuffy nose, sore throat.
